In partnership with Penn Mutual Carolina Partners, 130 local women attended an event dedicated to financial and physical health. The October 17 event took place at the Big Chill in
Charlotte, North Carolina.
In addition to discussion topics relating to careers, finances, fashion, and health, there were 20 local, women owned businesses showcased as vendors. The highlight of the evening was the keynote speaker, Penn Mutual Chairman and CEO, Eileen McDonnell. She spoke on the importance of supporting women and setting a destination for your goals. McDonnell closed her remarks with a simple charge - "Do it. It can be done."
The event had an impact on local community as well. With the support of South Park store Kendra Scott, the event raised over $2,000 for End Slavery in Charlotte. End Slavery in Charlotte focuses on raising awareness, resourcing activism, and creating safe houses for victims of human trafficking.
Financial Planner Robin Woodell of Emerald Financial Group is thrilled with the turnout for this year's event - "It is exciting to see so many women coming together to learn how to empower themselves and their community by growing their knowledge on finance, health, fashion, and career. I believe these women will truly ROCK their world!"
